Model 4.60: ANP BOCR - Legal Drinking Age (2002)
Short Description
Today, approximately eleven million American young adults under the age of 21 consume alcoholic beverages regularly. Furthermore, underage drinking is a major factor in nearly half of all teenager automobile crashes, the leading cause of death among teenagers. Other consequences of alcohol use result in youth suicides, homicides and fatal injuries. Research has shown that a higher minimum legal drinking age (MLDA) is effective in preventing alcohol- related deaths and injuries among youth. This project aims at determining the ideal minimum legal drinking age.
